Description
The “Nature” series presents a limited edition of giclée artworks (30 × 30 cm), developed from original sumi-e ink compositions by Yano Yoro. Each piece begins as a hand-painted work on rice paper. The artist then reinterprets the composition digitally, developing a final version specifically conceived for edition. The result is a distinct artwork in its own right, produced as a limited edition giclée rather than a direct reproduction of the original piece.
Printed on 230 g laid paper using a seven-ink process, these works preserve the depth, texture and subtle tonal variations of the original brushwork. Each artwork is released in a limited edition of 50, plus 2 artist proofs, individually numbered and signed.
The series explores a restrained and contemplative approach to nature — landscapes, flowers and living forms reduced to their essential presence. Through minimal gestures and the use of empty space, each composition invites a slower, more attentive way of looking. Working within the tradition of sumi-e, each brushstroke is guided by posture, breath and concentration, where precision and spontaneity coexist.
These works integrate naturally into a space, bringing balance, softness and a sense of calm. They work particularly well in minimal, contemporary and Japandi interiors, either as a standalone piece or in composition.
A QUIETER WAY OF LIVING WITH SPANISH ART
Selected by Belma Craft & Art
At Belma, we curate pieces where material, process and artistic language come together with clarity. Selected for its balance between tradition and contemporary expression, this series reflects a practice where gesture, material and restraint define the final piece.
Its quiet presence and versatility make it particularly suited to interiors that value subtlety, texture and a considered use of art. Yano Yoro’s practice also extends beyond the finished work, offering the possibility to engage more closely with her process through workshops and direct contact with the artist.
A personal note
This was one of the first works by Yano Yoro I brought to the Netherlands.
For my friend Carmen’s birthday, Rocío and I wanted to surprise her with something truly special. Knowing her love for original artworks and her connection to nature, the choice felt very clear — the piece you see here.
I still remember the moment she unwrapped it, and how naturally it found its place in her bedroom, where she could see it every day.
Over time, it became more than a gift — a piece she lives with, and one she returns to. A quiet reminder of that moment, and of the meaning it holds.

The advice of Belma Craft & Art
The artwork can be hung or placed on a surface, depending on the space. Soft, indirect light enhances the subtlety of the ink, while a restrained setting allows the piece to remain balanced and present.
