My first piece by Yano Yoro: It was my friend Raquel from A Coruña who introduced me to this talented artist. After seeing photos of her work, I was captivated by its sensitivity and beauty, prompting me to contact Susana Llorente, the artist behind Yano Yoro. Taking advantage of my summer vacation, I had the pleasure of meeting her in person and closely appreciating her porcelain pieces and sumi-e paintings. During our conversation, I felt she conveyed the same sense of harmony and serenity present in her works.
I couldn’t resist bringing home one of her porcelain pendants, adorned with bamboo. It serves as a beautiful reminder to stay resilient in the face of adversity. I hope you love it as much as I do!

Behind the pseudonym Yano Yoro lies the brush of Susana Llorente, a Madrid native currently residing in Muxía (A Coruña). Her artistic training began at an early age in her father’s workshop, where he was a skilled craftsman specialized in goldsmithing and enameling of metals.
Susana pursued studies in Interior Architecture, graphic design, and human anatomy modeling. For 15 years, she dedicated herself to sculpture and doll-making, combining her artistic pursuits with teaching and curating exhibitions.
Fascinated by oriental culture and Zen art, Susana explored Sumi-e, a Japanese painting technique used in Zen art. As a disciple of Li Chi-Pang, a renowned contemporary artist and master of traditional Chinese painting, Susana became a Sumi-e teacher in 1997, collaborating with her mentor.
In 2010, she relocated to live in Costa da Morte, Galicia, where she found inspiration in the wild nature and rekindled her passion for painting.
Susana’s artistic versatility is reflected in her work on rice paper, silks, and fire paintings on ceramics and porcelain. Her artistic approach captures the essence of the moment and the landscape, portraying emotions with spontaneous gestures, a commitment to irreversible choices, and using a nearly achromatic palette.
In addition to her artistic career, Yano Yoro has been actively involved in teaching across Spain, offering courses and lectures on Oriental Painting and the Chinese Brush Method in diverse settings, including schools, high schools, museums, academies, art fairs, town halls, and art galleries
