Description

The “Women” series presents a limited edition of digital ink artworks, measuring 30x30cm, capturing the essence of the Oriental female realm. These pieces evoke a sense of abundant love from within, portraying Japanese women in a graceful state that connects them with a universe brimming with lightness and dreamy love.

Spanish artist Yano Yoro brings each piece to life using the ancient sumi-e painting technique, known for its meditative approach and predominant use of Chinese ink. Applying this technique with simplicity, guiding the brush freehand with exceptional precision and attention to posture, Yano Yoro achieves the perfect stroke to convey the emotion of the moment, immersing viewers in a universe of intimate emotions where ink reveals sensuality and feminine reverie.

The originals are hand-drawn on rice paper, while the reproductions, available in limited series, undergo digital manipulation by the artist and are then printed with the utmost quality on 230g laid paper using a seven-ink machine.

Fifty numbered editions and two artist proofs are signed for each original piece, adding an exclusive touch to this remarkable collection.

Yano Yoro’s first painting in the Netherlands: For my friend Carmen’s birthday, Rocío and I wanted to surprise her with a unique gift. Knowing her love for original artworks and nature, we had a clear idea in mind. We only needed to decide on the central theme of the artwork, and the one you see here resonated with us.Yano Yoro- First painting in The NetherlandsI will never forget Carmen’s joyful expression as she unwrapped the present. Her repeated expressions of gratitude, saying “Thank you, girls”, filled the room. Carmen placed the artwork on her bedroom dresser, allowing her to admire it from her bed. Whenever she gazes at it, she shares that she feels the beauty and the tranquility it conveys, serving as a reminder of how much we care for her. Undoubtedly, it was an unforgettable gift for the three of us.

Behind the pseudonym Yano Yoro is the brush of Susana Llorente, a Madrid native currently residing in Muxía (A Coruña). Her artistic journey began early in her father’s workshop, where he was a skilled craftsman specialized in goldsmithing and metal enameling.

She pursued studies in Interior Architecture, Graphic Design and Human Anatomy Modeling. For 15 years, she devoted herself to sculpture and doll-making, with her creations finding homes in private collections in North America and Central Europe. In addition to her extensive teaching career, she curated numerous exhibitions in museums and galleries in Madrid and other Spanish cities.

Her fascination with oriental culture and Zen art led her to explore Sumi-e, a Japanese painting technique used in Zen art. As a disciple of Li Chi-Pang, a renowned contemporary artist and master of traditional Chinese painting, Susana became a Sumi-e teacher in 1997, collaborating with her mentor.

In 2010, she moved to live in Costa da Morte region, Galicia, where she found inspiration in the wild nature and rekindled her passion for painting.

Susana’s artistic versatility is reflected in her work on rice paper, silks, and fire paintings on ceramics and porcelain. Her artistic approach captures the essence of the moment and the landscape, conveying emotions with spontaneous gestures, without hesitation, and employing a nearly achromatic palette.

Beyond her artistic career, Yano Yoro has maintained a consistent teaching role throughout Spain, conducting courses and lectures on Oriental Painting and the Chinese Brush Method in diverse settings such us schools, high schools, museums, academies and art galleries.

CARE INSTRUCTIONS: Avoid direct exposure to sunlight and humidity.

FRAME SUGGESTION: We recommend framing it with a 5 to 7 cm off-white mat and a thin, light wood box-style frame. This combination complements the artwork’s aesthetic, creating an elegant display.
