Additionally, it’s equipped with a practical interior pocket in natural vegetable-tanned leather and magnetic clasps. For added comfort, it includes a removable and adjustable strap, offering a maximum length of 120cm.
Crafted with premium vegetable-tanned leather in natural color for the structure and cherry color for the stripes, as well as hand-burnished edges, the NERJA M bag ensures an exceptional durability and a high-quality finish.

My visit to the Taller Piccolo studio: After strolling through a beautiful garden, I entered the courtyard where Fran and Ángela welcomed me with warm smiles, inviting me into their workshop. Once inside, the air was filled with the comforting scent of wood and natural leather. The studio was adorned with intriguing elements such as a decorative arch on the back wall, and various items, from furniture to bags and earrings, in different stages of completion, all contributing to its charm. The serene atmosphere was enhanced by the sight of sawdust covering the floor, tools neatly hung on the walls, and Fran’s guitar resting nearby.
Amidst this tranquil setting, Fran and Ángela shared anecdotes from their workshop, including memories of Antonio Banderas playing music with Ángela’s brother when she was a kid. We discussed our shared passion for blending craftsmanship and design, a sentiment that deeply resonated with me. Their dedication to crafting timeless, functional pieces with soul, perfectly mirrored my own goal of offering exclusive, quality Spanish pieces in the Netherlands. In that moment, it became clear to me that collaborating with them would not only help me fulfill the needs of my clients but also make them feel special in their daily lives.

PRODUCT WARRANTY: This artisanal piece comes with a 2-year warranty from the date of purchase. The product warranty is the invoice you receive from Belma Craft & Art, so please keep it. Any damage caused to the piece by improper use or maintenance, or post-sale manipulation, will be excluded from the warranty. (Refer to the Care section).

MATERIALS: Crafted with premium Spanish vegetable-tanned leather in hazelnut color. Hand-burnished edges. Interior 100% cotton canvas in bone color with a hazelnut vegetable tanned leather pocket. Handle in ash wood. Nickel-free magnetic gold clasps. Removable strap with hand-burnished and hand-painted edges using water-based paints.
CARE: Vegetable-tanned leather features an open pore structure, allowing for periodic hydration to naturally age and enhance its durability. Over time and with exposure to sunlight, the leather will darken, developing a unique patina that adds to its character.
Leather:
- Protecting from mold: The environment where you store your leather products is crucial, as high humidity, poor ventilation, and dirt can promote mold growth. To prevent this, place a pouch of rice near your leather bags to absorb moisture from the air.
If mold forms, remove it by gently brushing outdoors with a soft-bristled brush (such as a toothbrush). Dry the leather using an electric heater, fan, or natural sunlight and air. If necessary, lightly apply a sponge with thick soap foam and clean with a damp cloth without saturating the leather.
- Protecting from stain: In case of contact with liquids, immediately dry the leather with a clean, soft cloth, let it air dry, and then apply a protective product as described below. Clean the entire surface uniformly and without rubbing with a soft, damp cloth to prevent stains. Rubbing specific areas can darken the leather in those spots. For serious stains, consult a professional leather cleaner.
- Surface care: If your leather item is stained from clothing friction or environmental dirt, rub these stains with an eraser.
We recommend periodically applying products that help maintain the leather’s hydration and restore its original appearance (such as beeswax, petroleum jelly, or hand cream).
If you want to add a protective barrier to maintain its original appearance for longer, it’s important to apply a high-quality stain and water repellent for leather free of silicones and wax as soon as you receive the product. It’s advisable to first test the product on a small area. This repellent may darken the leather color in most cases. Reapply it regularly every 2 to 3 months.
For bags containing textile elements:
Clean them periodically with a damp cloth. Fabric soaps can be used, following the manufacturer’s instructions carefully and without excess. Never use undiluted cleaning products, bleach, ammonia, or soap for other materials.
In case of stains, act quickly. First, remove the excess with a spoon or, if it’s liquid, with a white cloth. Remove non-greasy stains by rubbing with a cloth. Edge marks can be avoided by gently rubbing in circular motions toward the center of the stain. The fabric should be completely dry before reuse; you can use a low-temperature dryer for this purpose.
Note that many of our bags combine organic cotton and vegetable-tanned leather. It’s not recommended for the leather to get wet during the fabric cleaning process, as it may bleed onto the cotton. For Nerja bags, remove the fabric part as much as possible from the leather braiding and clean each part separately.
For tougher stains or general periodic care, we recommend professional dry cleaning.
